What People Are Saying

Ms. Nicole Davidson

When I first met Sekea, she had a light that radiated from her that intrigued me. Little did I know that other than us both being bus drivers, we had so much more in common.

We both have a passion for Children, feeding the Homeless and putting a smile on others faces. We both have had our bouts with the struggles of Life. This makes us both more eager and determined to help others through theirs and to let them know they are not alone.

I have always wanted to give back what was so freely given to me and I didn’t know where to start. When you don’t know where or how to start, join someone who already started their vision and become the legs to carry it out. When you can’t meet the need plant the seed. I joined this movement and we will keep on moving forward.

When we were giving out “Love Baskets” last year, I didn’t know I would become a recipient of one. Ever since my fiancé was killed, I have been spending Valentine’s Days alone. It made me feel special and Loved. You can’t beat God giving and do unto others as you would have them to do unto you took on a new meaning.

Ebony Henderson

My name is Ebony Henderson. I am a leader and a advocate in my community. Although, I have been with other organizations and community leaders, “Learning To Live Through The Struggle” is an organization that hit home. In my community growing up, we never had anyone that understood our struggles as African Americans. Our struggles are definitely real. This organization understands that and is willing to help the community with that .
